(July 2, 2015) British Columbia’s corporate owned media remained silent on Canada Day as one of the most corrupt and undemocratic Bills in B.C. history moves closer to being passed.
The people we elected to represent us – will meet in Victoria beginning July 13 to pass a Bill to ratify a secret agreement between Petronas and BC premier Christy Clark. (Google: Christy Clark Petronas PDA)
The details of the Clark / Petronas Agreement, signed in May, remain secret, although Ms. Clark says we ‘may’ see it on July 13.
Although the PDA (Project Development Agreement) with Petronas is secret, some details are known. A Times Colonist editorial a few weeks ago said Christy Clark has ‘made a concession that no BC government has ever granted …’
It seems the agreement ‘will lock us into a deal’ with Petronas until 2038. If we want to change the tax or royalty structure, we will have to fully compensate Petronas.
FRACKING: The entire Petronas LNG plan is based on Fracking – and the Christy Clark Agreement may force us to pay Petronas if we want them to stop fracking in the future. Fracking poisons HUGE amounts of water forever. Poisoning our water is always a good idea, especially in a drought.
This corrupt and undemocratic Bill goes to the BC Legislature on Monday July 13. It will be ‘introduced’ probably between 1:30 and 2:00PM. The Liberals plan to introduce the Bill on Monday, and ram it through the Legislature within two weeks if possible. The Monday ‘sitting’ begins at 10AM.
Please come to the B.C. Legislature and demand some democracy.
