The Nelson Mandela Foundation has expressed satisfaction about the election process and the work of the Electoral Commission.
The Foundation is one of the election observers. Its Chief Executive Sello Hatang was speaking at a media briefing held by the observers at the IEC results operations centre in Pretoria.
“In our view these elections represent the wishes of the people. We had a committed IEC commission and its executive team. They worked tirelessly to ensure that they delivered these elections. Political parties and party agents observed the rules and regulations and code of conduct. Cancelled or contested ballots were quarantined and in every station they were dealt with in accordance with the rules.”
