Mamelodi Sundowns striker Emiliano Tade has retired from football according to his coach Pitso Mosimane.
The news broke on Wednesday that the Argentinian parted ways with the team. Tade joined the PSL Champions from AmaZulu FC in January after an impressive stint with them in the 2018/2019 season, when he scored seven goals in 20 appearances across all competitions. Mosimane says he tried to convince him not to quit.
Sundowns bought the 31-year old Tade in a big-money move but he only made 12 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions before being plagued by injuries.
Mosimane says it was not a good move economically. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
A horrible tackle on Rivaldo Coetzee last night meant he left the stadium on crutches and needing X-Rays, details to follow.
